Vintage 35mm Camera Hire – Important Information & Disclaimer
Our collection of vintage 35mm film cameras offers a unique opportunity to work with classic photographic equipment, some of which may be several decades old.
Due to their age and mechanical nature, these cameras require particular care when handling and operating. Although every camera is inspected and checked for functionality prior to hire, vintage equipment can be subject to age-related wear, mechanical irregularities and occasional malfunctions that may not be apparent during testing.
Customers should be aware that vintage cameras may not perform with the same consistency or reliability as modern equipment.
Testing & Operation
We strongly recommend that hirers familiarise themselves with the camera's operation and carry out their own tests before undertaking any critical or time-sensitive work. Particular attention should be given to shutter operation, exposure accuracy, film advance and light-tightness where applicable.
All equipment must be handled with appropriate care and must not be forced, modified or subjected to excessive strain. Any malfunction or irregularity should be reported to New Day Pictures immediately, and use of the affected equipment should be discontinued where further operation could cause damage.
Minimum Hire Period
All vintage 35mm cameras are subject to a minimum hire period of seven consecutive days (one week).
Shorter hire periods may be accommodated by prior arrangement; however, the minimum one-week hire charge will still apply. Equipment returned before the end of the agreed hire period will not qualify for a reduction or refund of the minimum hire charge.
Liability & Responsibility
Due to the age and specialist nature of vintage equipment, New Day Pictures Ltd cannot guarantee that cameras will operate without interruption or mechanical irregularity throughout the hire period.
Hirers are responsible for carrying out appropriate pre-shoot testing and taking reasonable precautions when using vintage cameras, particularly for important or non-repeatable photographic work.
Subject to applicable law and our standard Terms & Conditions of Hire, New Day Pictures Ltd shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from equipment malfunction, including lost production time, wasted film stock, processing costs or reshoot expenses, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
Hirers may be held responsible for damage resulting from misuse, negligence, improper handling or unauthorised modification, in accordance with our standard Terms & Conditions.
Acceptance of Hire Conditions
By hiring equipment from our vintage 35mm camera collection, customers acknowledge the age and specialist nature of the equipment, the additional care required in its use, and the minimum seven-day hire charge.
All hires are subject to New Day Pictures Ltd's standard Terms & Conditions of Hire.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or restricts any statutory rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
